Run your field operationfrom WhatsApp.
Stage5 Field is a conversational operating system for subcontractors. The office plans crews, jobs, documents and orders in one system. The crews receive work, report progress, send photos and ask the business questions - in the app they already have open all day.
Not shipping yet. We are building it with subcontractors, and the first pilot companies shape what the first version does.

Today, from the field
Nothing from the crews yet this morning.
WhatsApp · the crew
Illustration. Stage5 Field is in development - this is the product we are building with pilot customers, not a screen you can log into today.
The problem
Your operation already runsthrough WhatsApp.
Twenty workers, four crews, ten live jobs, and a phone with thirty group chats. The work gets coordinated there because that is where everyone already is. The company's actual information lives somewhere else entirely.
What already happens in the chats
- Crews get told where to go tomorrow
- Photos of finished work, and of problems
- “The crane is down”, “we're short on material”
- Voice notes at the end of a shift
- Delivery notes photographed at the gate
- The customer asking when you are coming back
Where the answers actually live
- Excel, in a version someone emailed last week
- The accounting software only the bookkeeper opens
- A Drive folder with three revisions of the same plan
- Someone's camera roll
- The ERP nobody in the field has a login for
- A manager's memory
Every morning, the same questions
The cost is not the chat. It is the second copy.
Everything said in the field gets typed again somewhere else, by someone in the office, hours later - or it never gets typed at all, and the answer only exists in a person's head.
13 hours
a week, per person
is what construction teams already spend looking for data that exists somewhere in the company. Not creating it. Looking for it.

The idea
What if WhatsApp could talk to your business?
Not a bot that answers FAQs. The same operational data your office works in, reachable in a sentence - and updatable in a sentence too.
Pick a question:

Stage5 Field
Roof, level 7 - revision C, approved and uploaded on 25 September. Revision B is superseded, so don't work off the copy in the old group.
In the system
Read from the document library. Nothing changed - the file was found by customer and job, not by folder.
Examples, not recordings. Stage5 Field is in development.
One system, two interfaces
The office works in Stage5.The field works in WhatsApp.
Both sides are changing the same operational reality. A crew moved in the office shows up in a crew leader's chat; a job closed in a chat shows up on the office's screen. There is no second system to reconcile.
Office
Structured screens
- Crew schedule and availability
- Customers and projects
- Jobs, tasks and statuses
- Documents and plan revisions
- Orders and deliveries
- Reports and history
Stage5 Field
One set of records
- Who is on which crew
- What work is assigned where
- What was done, and when
- Which document is current
- What is open, and since when
- What the business already knows
Field
A conversation
- WhatsApp and Telegram
- Plain language, in any language they speak
- Voice notes, transcribed
- Photos, filed where they belong
- Documents sent back on request
- No login, no install, no training
The field side is the one that decides whether any of this works. A system the crews do not use is an empty database - so the crews were given the interface they already use, not the one that was easier to build.
Capabilities
What we are building first
Six jobs, chosen because they are the ones a subcontractor does every single day. Each one has to work from a structured screen in the office and from a sentence in a chat.
Crew scheduling
Workers, crews, availability and a work calendar across every active site. Know who is going where before anyone gets in a van.
“Who is on the Herzliya job tomorrow?”
Work assignment
The office assigns the job; the crew gets it in their chat with the customer, site, scope and start time. They can answer in plain language and the schedule updates.
“David is coming instead of me.”
Field reporting
Progress, blockers and missing material reported as they happen, in speech or in text. The system works out which job it belongs to.
“Finished floor 5, we need 30 more units tomorrow.”
Photos and documentation
Photos and delivery notes sent to the chat get filed against the right customer, site, job and date - so a dispute six months later has evidence.
“Show me last Thursday's photos from Herzliya.”
Document retrieval
Plans, specs and revisions come back to the field on request, with the current version made obvious. The information flows out to the crews, not only in from them.
“Which revision of the drawing are we on?”
Orders and business data
Orders, deliveries and - where a system is connected - billing status, readable in the chat instead of behind three logins.
“What orders are still open for this customer?”
Stage5 Field is not an accounting system and will not become one. Where it shows commercial information, it is reading a system you already run.
Why this is different
Not another appfor your workers.
Most operational software works only if everyone uses it correctly, every day, forever. That is a bet on twenty people changing their habits. Stage5 Field does not make that bet: the office gets structured software, the crews keep the app they already have open.
Traditional systems
Stage5 Field
A field app to install and log into
The chat app already on every phone
Menus, screens and forms to fill in
A sentence, a photo, or a voice note
The field searches for data itself
The field asks, and gets an answer back
Photos stay in a camera roll
Photos become dated, filed records
Reporting happens in the evening, from memory
Reporting happens while the work is happening
The system stores your data
You can talk to your data
WhatsApp is not an integration here.
Plenty of systems can send a WhatsApp message. That is notification, and it is not what this is. In Stage5 Field the conversation is the interface: work goes out through it, work comes back through it, and questions get answered inside it.
A day with Stage5 Field
One Thursday, start to finish
Nobody opened a second system, and nobody typed the same thing twice.
- 06:30OfficeThe ops manager schedules three crews for the day and closes the laptop.
- 06:45FieldEach crew leader gets their assignment in WhatsApp: customer, site, scope, start time, who is with them.
- 08:10FieldA crew leader asks for the current plan. The approved revision comes back in the chat, with a note that the older one is superseded.
- 11:30FieldProgress photos arrive with a voice note. Both get filed against the right job and the status moves.
- 14:00FieldA worker reports missing material. A shortage is opened, dated, and attached to tomorrow's job.
- 15:30OfficeThe office sees the shortage, moves a crew, and the affected crew leaders are told in their chat.
- 16:00OwnerThe owner asks what got finished today, and gets the answer without calling anyone.
The office side of this day is a structured screen. The field side is a conversation. It is the same day either way.
Sitting on top of what you run
Connect the systems you already use.
Stage5 Field is not here to replace your accounting software or the folder where your plans live. The goal is to bring operational information out of those tools and into one place your team can reach in a sentence - and to write back only where you want it to.
Which of these are connected, and how, is part of what the pilot decides. We are not publishing an integration list for software that is still being built.
We are building Stage5 Fieldwith subcontractors.
Not for them. The companies in the pilot get the product shaped around how they actually run their crews, and we get the only thing that makes operational software correct - real days, on real sites, with real crews who will tell us when it is wrong.
This is a fit if you
- run crews across several active sites at once
- coordinate most of the day through WhatsApp already
- have work, photos and documents scattered across tools
- have tried a field app and watched the crews stop using it
What the pilot involves
- Real jobs and real crews, not a sandbox
- Direct access to the team building it
- Your corrections change the product, not a backlog ticket
- Commercial terms agreed case by case, before anything starts
